Memosne: 2010

Bleh.

Taiwan is a country of heat, good food, and good people. Since my arrival, I doubt that I have done anything other than eating, looking for air conditioning and sleeping. I don't think I've ever been happier. =PI love Taiwan. I love Taipei.

Honestly, I've lived in Beijing before, and that experience was one of the formidable events in my life, in a extremely negative way. Living in Taipei, it's hard to escape the comparison between the "Mainland" and Taiwan, but honestly I love Taiwan so much more. I feel safe, happy, and emotionally stable in Taiwan, whereas in Beijing I was still an insecure teenager.

Here in Taipei, everything is so connected, wherever you go on the metro you can expect a place to be lively and fun, even late into the night.

Although this is still going to be my personal blog, and have more fashion-y and personal related blog posts...most of my attention and new posts will be at this blog:

I started this project with my friend and I'm happy with how it's coming out. =) Please check it out! <3 Also, check back here occasionally for updates. ^__^

Bad. Super Bad.

I was so excited about starting this blog, and then two days later I forgot about it. I feel like a neglectful parent. =( While I try to think of something interesting here is some filler.

My favorite song. =)

I am pleased! I like to eat. Niu Sushi is definitely delicious, fresh, and...expensive. I'm lucky enough to have eaten there twice already! The first time celebrating my father's birthday, and the second celebrating my father's return to Taipei. =)

Unluckily enough, the first time that my family ate there I had forgotten to bring my camera to document the meal and the event. The second time I remembered my camera... however I often forgot to take pictures of what I was eating. Ha, ha, ha. =___=  I am the ultimate fatty. Anway, here are the remains of a delicious, delicious meal. My dad, my dad's friend, and I actually ate much, much more than this. I'll try and be more diligent about recording my days. =P

The Uni Rice and the Fois Gras sushi were my favorites. =) After dinner we all headed to a tiny cafe, I have no idea where it is, to drink their famous "Steamed Milk Coffee". Apparently the milk is steamed for six hours before being incorporated into the coffee. For a very small cup, the price tag goes for around $500 NT dollars.

It was so good. IT WAS SO GOOD. END.

Fashion Show! Part One

Taiwanese Fashion Show 2010

Fashion Show

Not too long ago, I was invited by my Aunt to go to "Amazing Taiwan", a part of Taiwan's Fashion Week that housed some of Taiwan's best and brightest in the fashion industry. I would by no means consider myself a fashionable person, but I do have a sincere interest in the industry, so I thought this was enough to accept the invitation. I'm so glad I decided to go! It was fun and the atmosphere was unlike anything I've ever experienced.

This was my first fashion show, and I was very excited. I attended the show on the last day and there were still a plethora of talented designers ready to showcase their wears. The fashions ranged from casual day looks, to formal evening looks and even "haute couture" outfits. The music and presentation was equally diverse.

With my poor photography skills and my point and shoot camera these pictures hardly do the show justice. It also didn't help at all that my camera died in the middle. But I did catch some of my favorite outfits on my memory card. =)
